Seoul

Of the five Grand Palaces built during the Joseon dynasty, Gyeongbokgung Palace is the one to visit, home to the National Folk and National Palace Museums. Snaffle up street food such as bindaetteok (mung-bean pancakes) at nearby Gwangjang Market. Whizz over to the Leeum Samsung Museum for traditional and modern Korean Art. Mext up, shopping: take the metro to Gangnam to Apgujeong Rodeo Street, Seoul's answer to Sloane Square, or stroll to Garosu-gil with its cool boutiques and ginkgo-tree-lined streets.
